“The Fading Of Incandescent Light” aims to look at the contemporary landscape of Cornwall, Ontario, through a historical lens in collaboration with the Cornwall Community Museum for a January 2025 exhibition.

Opting to search for echoes in the landscape of what was, what remains, and how the land/infrastructure is being used today amid a nationwide housing crisis, “The Fading Of Incandescent Light” does not take a traditional rephotography approach of a “then vs now” narrative, but hopes to provoke questions in the viewer of their place amongst their city’s rich past and what are we doing today to preserve it while developing new housing projects.

By referencing archival photographs from the museum's holdings, conversations with staff, and my intimate knowledge of my hometown, the work is being carried out incrementally throughout 2024.
